Is there a way I can attend that
it's in San Francisco. Are you local to there?
Last night I went to a big tech meetup where I didnt know anyone.
You know the kind where just about everyone works for one of the top four tech companies?
Unsurprisingly, of the 150 attendees, I was the only black woman.
I brought hubby with me as a security blanket.
After 15 min of sticking together, we decided to actually go try to network with these strangers.
It was amazing! I just walked into existing circles of conversations, smiled, and said "hi, I'm Angie".
Every single circle gladly made room for me and welcomed me into their convos. They were genuinely interested in what I had to contribute to the conversations.
need several posts to answer this and don't want to hijack OP's thread so making my own... https://t.co/TDqbLlh09F
Pro: found gaps in features very early. when QA churned out the variations, BA could easily understand intent and say hmmm yeah hadn't thought of this but it should certainly be allowed. Let's add it. Or no, that's not valid bc [some thing they didn't originally specify]...
...Wasn't a whole lot of back and forth, and trying to prove bugs. Everyone could read that short scenario and understand clearly what should be happening.
