something I rarely hear other marketers talk about: is burn out.
I think one reason that agencies are always pushing new and shiny stuff is that good marketing is a LOT of repetition and process work.
and "shiny" is an escape from that.
Burn out is real. If you're really good at something, you're going to to be asked to do it over and over again.
So you have to take steps to care for yourself.
This is why consultancies and companies that make marketers work to death eventually lose them.
So what's the answer?
first, you need to take time off regularly to rest, recharge and come up with fresh ideas and approaches, so that every marketing project is sui generis.
