Unpopular opinion: I am really happy to see Cameron and Tyler succeed. I covered their legal battle against Facebook as a journalist, and both the press (myself sometimes included) and the courts were brutal to them. https://t.co/Exjc1LLdZf
Not to mention Silicon Valley in general. It's tough to grasp today because now tech is full of Soylent-drinking CrossFit bros, but there was a lot of "Revenge of the Nerds"-ish glee about smacking down two jocks who looked like the guys who were mean to geeks in high school.
And what a lot of people who are new to tech don't get is that they were going up against Facebook at a time when FB was pretty much untouchable rather than the behemoth it is today, and they refused to give up even though it was making them very few friends and a lot of enemies.
Which horrible Netflix holiday movie should I watch if I am armed with a bottle of bad red wine and a very good black cat is sleeping on my feet?
OK, I have decided on "The Princess Switch" because @NPDeMember informed me that it was pretty much written by an algorithm, so at least it's therefore of professional interest to me...?
One minute into this movie I am already suspending disbelief because it starts off in Chicago in the winter and people aren’t bundled up like penguins. They aren’t even wearing hats.
