Aaron Peskin has introduced new legislation to regulate, among other things, the demolition of residential units in San Francisco. Proponents have said the legislation will prevent the removal of “affordable starter homes” from the market.https://t.co/Z84peUGxar
On the surface, this legislation is designed to regulate residential expansions, mansion-zation and removal of units. Expansion and mansion-zation are bugbears of rich neighborhoods, not some plight on working-class housing.
But Peskin’s legislation also vastly expands discretionary review of demolitions, including for owner-occupied single family homes. pic.twitter.com/Y7KvySBVim
