I think about this quote often in today's political landscape. It's getting harder and harder to draw a line between the two. 1/8
There's so much evidence of ill-will from our country's leadership that anyone who turns a blind eye to it is bordering on complicit. People have become convinced that membership in their tribe (whether political, religious, professional, etc) is more important than truth. 2/8
Even worse are those who say "I'm not political", which is an admission that you were born into a situation where your rights and worth as a human being were never questioned so it's not worth your time. THIS. IS. PRIVILEGE. 3/8
