Two days after the 311th mass shooting this year, my kiddo is prepping for her third lockdown drill. She's now 6. This doesn't get easier.
I post these annually. I'll write another one today. But here is the thread. #MarchForOurLives #GunControlNow
This was the one from Preschool. I was a wreck. She wore a tutu dress to school that day, which made me think, what if this is the last thing she ever wears? At least she'll be happy. That's a HORRIBLE thought for a parent to have sending a kid to school. https://t.co/agSRq1Dx5Y
This was from last year, Kindergarten - the year she was confused the flag was at full staff because half-staff from shootings is just so common.

And again, I repeat, going into year three - I just remember when she was 4 months old, I was wrapping Christmas presents as the news from Newtown came out. I watched in horror, and looked over at my baby, not even able to roll over yet, thinking "Good God, what have we done."
The answer is nothing.
We have done nothing.
We continue do to nothing.
We accept the unacceptable and it's disgusting.
